My Lord and my God, I firmly believe that you are here, that you see me, that you hear me.

I adore you with profound reverence.

I ask your pardon for my sins and grace to make this time of prayer fruitful.

My immaculate mother, St. Joseph, my Father and Lord,

my guardian angel intercede for me.

We thank you, Lord Jesus, for this time of prayer here before us in your body, blood, soul, and divinity.

We ask that we continue to accompany you closely during this Lenton journey, which will culminate in the celebration of the Holy Triduum,

celebration of the Last Supper,

our Lord's passion and death on the cross,

leading to the great feast of the resurrection of Jesus,

the three holiest days of the year,

leading to the holiest time of the year into the Easter season.

We especially focus on the passion of our Lord during the time of Lent.

We look at Lent as an opportunity to prepare ourselves for the sorrows and the pain and the sufferings of Jesus on the cross,

not because in some way we, in a morbid way, enjoy them, or in some way we say that, well,

you have to go through that pain and the suffering of

Jesus' crucifixion in order to get to the glory of the resurrection.

That is true, but actually because we know it's a question of love.

The sufferings of Jesus are all about a demonstration of how much God loves us,

loves each and every one of us,
