So the Fifth Circuit just issued a ruling in DeAnda versus Becerra,

and that is the case that we said a few months ago would likely spell the end of teen access to birth control.

Unsurprisingly, the hyperpartisan Fifth Circuit ruled in Alexander DeAnda's favor.

He's this Christian patriarch who basically wants to keep his daughters chased

and therefore wants to be informed if they should ever be in the position to have

birth control on their grubby little paws.

I didn't know where that was going.

I didn't either.

I just wanted to see where that sentence took us.

So this case, Deanda v. Bessera, pits a teen's ability to access birth control in confidence under federal law against the right granted by Texas for a parent to consent to medical treatment for their kid.
