The former president of South Korea, Yun Suk Yol, faces the final verdict on Thursday.

And if guilty, prosecutors are demanding the death penalty for leading an insurrection when he

declared martial law as president back in December at 2024.

Later that month, after the insurrection failed,

the South Korean Parliament impeached him. The South Korean Supreme Court removed him from office.

That was in April at 2025. And he has remained in prison facing charges of insurrection.

Like I said, if he's found guilty of leading an insurrection, he could be executed.
