My Lord and my God, I firmly believe that you are here, that you see me, that you hear me.

I adore you with profound reverence.

I ask pardon for my sins, and the grace to make this time of prayer fruitful.

My Immaculate Mother, St. Joseph, my father, and Lord, my guardian angel, intercede for me.

The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a reading from the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 1.

In those days, Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a city of Judea, and she entered the house of Zachariah and greeted Elizabeth.

And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leapt in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, and she exclaimed with a loud cry,

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.

And why has this granted me

that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

For behold, when the voice of your greeting came to my ears,

the babe in my womb left for joy.

And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment

of what was spoken to her from the

Lord. As you will remember, this gospel text comes after the visitation of the angel Gabriel

to Mary. She explained our lady's vocation to her, and also what had happened to her cousin Elizabeth.

Elizabeth and Zachariah were expecting a child,

St. John the Baptist, in their old age. Mary didn't hesitate for a second. She went with haste to help Elizabeth.

No one asked for her. No one was expecting her, but she went anyways. She had her own personal

problems as well. She was pregnant
