You to resist the temptation of clicking off the broadcast because you are mad about something that I said or you don't agree with something I said and just hear me out tonight. Just listen to what I'm saying. I'm going to be talking about the fear of the Lord, but probably in a much different way than you've ever heard it before because I'm going to show you that what you've been taught, you know, the title is something like, you know, you've been lied to. It's true. This is not clickbait. You have been lied to when it comes to the fear of the Lord. And not in, I don't think your pastor or a leader or preacher intentionally lied to you, but one of the most misunderstood topics in all scripture is the fear of the Lord. I've never done a full teaching on this. And I did this teaching a few weeks ago on hell, if any of you remember that. Guys, that sermon or teaching, whatever you want to call it changed my life. It really did. I have felt more convicted than I've ever felt before thinking about hell and the terror of hell i've been saying every day lord if there's any

sin of my life wash me cleanse me purify me i'm living with a holy fear of god it can it has kicked me

into a holy fear of the lord which is what led me down the path of learning about the fear of god

reading about the fear of god and i learned something guys in the last three weeks when i've been reading about the fear of God because it's my own journey I've been on learning and studying and looking at verses and doing the whole thing, it's not what we thought. The fear of God is not what we thought. If you've been taught the fear of God is just being reverent towards God, that is not what the fear of God is. Have you been taught that the fear of God is just, you know, making sure that you treat God seriously, that is not what the fear of God is. In fact, if we look at what Paul said, in 2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 11, a lot of scriptures tonight, he said, by the way, we started already, he said, knowing therefore, the terror of the Lord, that's the terror of the Lord, not the fear

of God, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men. Paul did not say knowing therefore the love of God

we persuade men. This is Paul telling us the motivation for his ministry. Paul, what is motivating you to preach the way that you preach, Paul?

What is motivating you to share your faith in such a bold way?

To get literally stoned alive for your faith.

Paul said, you want to know my motivator?

Not the love of God.

And again, if you get offended, just stay with me.

Not the grace of God, not the mercy of God.

The terror of God. He didn't say knowing the mercy of God, the terror of God.

He didn't say knowing the kindness of the Lord, we persuade men.

He said, knowing therefore the terror of the Lord.

And this is what the modern church ignores.

We have built a version of Christianity.

You don't know what you're talking about.
