Summary

Join me on Substack here where I write about anxiety, parenting and careers.

For this solo episode I am talking through how I overcame my latest anxiety wobble - something I hadn't felt to that extent in so long. It really unnerved me and stuck around for a few days. For me, a fear I will probably forever grapple with is the fear of losing my mind. It comes now and then as a scar from the trauma and how I react to it is really important. I also cover in this episode the very significant 'vulnerability factor' that is our consumption currently of non stop tragic news coming from the Israel/Palestine conflict and how that can activate our stress response within our own daily lives. I hope you find this helpful, as always thank you for listening.

what we're probably all feeling right now and that's deep

and every one of us, even though we might

0:54.8

not feel directly connected to it or we might feel completely removed geographically from

it. I want to highlight the vulnerability factors we experience both personally and collectively

1:04.3

that we might not always remember are at play when we start to feel anxious and we're not quite

1:08.5

sure why. Having awareness of these vulnerability factors,

whether it's being under the weather or sleep deprived or absorbing all of that news, all that time,

1:17.9

it allows you to course correct and it gives you a chance to go a little bit easier on yourself

1:22.0

as you understand that maybe how you're feeling actually does make sense. First of all, let me tell you a little bit

about where I've been at personally before we get on to the bigger and arguably more important

global issues at hand. Last week, I got a bit of a fright. I started to feel hints of that

same anxiety that had really taken hold of me almost 10 years ago. I then, of course,

panicked that maybe I was about to be plunged back into it merely for having had the thought.

It feels kind of silly to say it now, but when I tease it apart, I think for me, one of my biggest
