From the shadows comes the emperor Palpatine.

We're actually going to talk about the history that went into the casting of Palpatine

for Return of the Jedi specifically.

We know that there was a different situation with Clive Ravel and other things in Empire

for that brief cameo since has been replaced by Ian McDarmid.

But it's an interesting story of how he got cast and it was possibly one of the most perfect

castings due to the fact of the prequels that came thereafter.

You got the Rises Skywalker on a big

palpathy movie, a big Ian McDarmid movie, but we're going to dial it back about 36 years

before that. What if they bought back Clive for Rise of Skywalker? Is he still around, you think?

No, I don't know.

But wouldn't that be funny if they were like, it makes the most sense.

He was the original emperor.

Right.

That was the emperor's true form.

Yeah.
