Hey, good morning. It's Patricia Murphy. It's Monday. This is Seattle now. There's a lot of hype

about artificial intelligence, and authors Emily Bender and Alex Hanna say the hype about

AI's future is overshadowing the harm the technology is causing today. They're here to talk about

their upcoming book, The AI Con. But first, let's get you caught up. It's the first day of candidate filing week in Washington, so we'll get the final look at who's running for open position statewide, including for mayor and the district two seat on the Seattle City Council.

Interested candidates can apply on the King County website between today and 5 p.m. Friday. Happy campaigning.

Heads up if you're getting on a plane later this week, Wednesday is the first day of real ID

enforcement, so have your enhanced driver's license ready and maybe give yourself some extra

time to get through airport security. You can still drive with a standard

Washington license, so if you're not flying anywhere, there's no rush. And if you have one,

your passport works as well. And we'll get a better idea on Thursday of how many people took a

trip to Seattle last year? Visit Seattle is releasing its 2024 visitor report. 37.8 million people visited Seattle

King County in 2023, which Visit Seattle says is about 90% of pre-pandemic travel levels.
