As our culture continues to slide into an increasingly post-Christian future,

we benefit from the examples of godly teachers who know Scripture,

embrace sound doctrine, and love the gospel.

And few public figures fit this description better than D.A. Carson.

Born in Montreal in 1946, Carson is widely regarded as one

of the most influential public theologians of his generation, and has been at the forefront of

some of the most important theological conversations of the past 50 years. In my interview today,

I sit down with Carson to talk about some of the key themes that have marked his career,

both as an academic and as a churchman.

And what I found most impressive in this conversation was hearing Carson's enduring passion,

a passion for knowing and correctly handling God's word,

for thinking carefully about culture,

and for holding tight to the gospel as the center for all that we think and say and do as Christians.

Carson is Emeritus Professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

He's a co-founder and the theologian at large for the Gospel Coalition and has written or edited nearly 200 books, including the gospel and the modern world, a theological vision for the church from Crossway.
