On July 18th, 2014, Toronto-born Florida State University professor Dan Markell, father of two young boys, Benjamin and Lincoln, was gunned down in his home in Tallahassee, Florida.

For nearly a decade, the Markell family has waited for justice. While other dominoes in the case have fallen

leading up to now, it was a conviction of Markell's brother-in-law. Charlie Adelson managed to

allude justice for years in the killing, was convicted Monday on all counts. The 12-person jury

deliberated only about three hours before announcing it had reached unanimous decision.

We, the jury, find as follows as the defendant is guilty of first-degree murder.

Today we take a look at the case, the aftermath, and I share an interview segment that I did with Dan's mother, Ruth Markell, earlier this year.
