I'm the aluminati and today we're talking about Butch Hartman and his downfall.

I'm sure plenty of you have heard at least a Cliff Notes version of what happened.

Butch Hartman, creator of the Fairly Oddparents and Danny Phantom, created a streaming service and didn't disclose

he intended it to be faith-based

until after already receiving his Kickstarter funds. The deception justifiably

angered many and for a while now I've wanted to dig in a bit deeper into this case.

Is this just a story about Butch Hartman, a beloved creator being deceptive?

Is there something more malicious going on?

Let's dig a little deeper and find out what happened here, starting with who But Hartman is and a building of a timeline of events.

But Hartman was a massive crater on Nickelodeon.

I won't do all too much on this primarily because I want to get to his post-Nick years today.

But for those of you who may not be familiar with him,

let's provide a bit of context.

Butch Hartman has worked on some incredibly popular shows from the 90s and early 2000s,

with one of his most known works being the fairly odd parents created in 1997.

According to his YouTube video, Why I Left Nickelodeon in 2018, Nick was incredibly

good to him. They treated him well and he doesn't have any ill will towards the company.

In his first video, Butch discusses how tough the industry is, what a joy it was working on Danny

Phantom and Tough Puppy and the projects he has in the works.

One of these projects is called The Nougne network, which he created in 2015.
