I'm the Illuminati and today we're going to be talking about the

1883 eruption of Krakatoa volcano like I probably learned

about it in school years ago but the memory has slipped a bit out of my mind.

So before we can talk about the eruption,

let's get into where Krakatoa is and the volcano's history.

To start with, the name is technically Krakowo in Indonesian, but Krakowahua is where

this volcano is more commonly known as, and it's the name my sources use, so that's what I'm going

to be referring to it as well.

Krakatoa is a small volcanic island in Indonesia located about a hundred miles

west of Jakarta. A previous major eruption likely in the fifth or sixth century a.D. is thought to have

created Krakatoa and two nearby islands Lang and Verlatan, as well as the

undersea Caldera volcanic crater between them.

It's located in the Sunda Strait between Sumatra and Java, and as of writing this, its current

status is restless, or a 2 out of five, meaning it's

remaining active. As for its history, I did find some sources that mention

Krakatoa in the sixth century as writings from China and Indonesia describe rare

atmospheric phenomena that possibly could point to a volcanic eruption.
