Well, the night before Donna and I got engaged, I was in possession of two engagement

rings. And it's because I was living in Dallas at the time, and I'd gone to a Dallas jeweler

and that was legit, reputable, and he had offered me a ring that I could afford. I was kind of analyzing the cut

and the clarity and color, all that carrot, all that sort of stuff. And it had the paperwork. And so I was

looking to buy it, but I had a friend say, hey, before you do that, you need to meet my guy in New York.

He can give you the same deal, but for less money. So I called this guy in New York, and the guy was like, oh, yeah, man,

I can match that. And he mailed me a ring. Just said, give me your address. And he said,

I sent you a ring. I'm like, wait, what? Like, I don't even know you. And you're just mailing me

jewelry. It felt a little weird. But it was roughly the same kind of diamond as this one, but it was significantly cheaper. And so I told the Dallas guy,

hey, I think I'm going to go with this one. He says, I understand that. But before you do,

let me just encourage you, you should get it appraised. So I said, okay. So I started calling appraisers.

And one after another, it was like, man, we ain't got it. And so I realized, man, this is a problem. I got a date. I need to go. And I was trying to figure this out. And one appraiser finally told me,

hey, look, man, there's one way you're going to get this done. And it's the most expensive way.

He said, but it's also the best way. You need to go to Padigio-Lay. He said, she's the best appraiser in Dallas. Actually, we all key off her and want to be like her.

You've got to go to Padigio, like.

And then multiple guys said the same thing.

Even the Dallas guy that was trying to sell me one, when I told him, I'm going to go get this one of praise.

He goes, are you going to Patagiole?

I was like, yeah.
