The Philadelphia Eagles improved to 4-0 with an overtime victory over the Washington

commanders, one of two remaining teams in the NFL that are undefeated at the quarter

season mark.

Welcome into the EPA podcast, I am your host Shane Hath, I'm here to break down the Eagles

versus commanders game from last Sunday and then at the end of the podcast we're going

to turn the page and talk about the Eagles pending matchup with the Los Angeles Rans.

Last year, Washington came into Philadelphia and they handed the Eagles their first loss

of the year and to be honest as I watched the first half and even so I watched the

first quarter even the first half of this game it felt a lot like that.

There were long scoring drives, Washington hammering out long drives after long drive

after long drive it's something they did to the Eagles last year keeping the offense

off the field and they built a 10 point lead.

Now fortunately for the Eagles, Devonte Smith makes an incredible catch before half time

to pick up a chunk gain and the Eagles cut it to a field goal at half time, they get

the ball back after half and they sort of took over the game offensively in the second

half.

However, as they took control the game offensively the defense fell apart and allows two touchdowns

in the fourth quarter including Sam Howell going down the field with a minute 53 left

and only one time out to get the game into overtime.

Fortunately for the Eagles, Ron Rivera made the suboptimal decision to kick the extra point

and take it to overtime rather than going for two in the win and then overtime the Eagles

defense was able to get a three in out and then put away the game.
