Let's pray together as we begin and ask the Lord to guide us in our understanding.

Lord Jesus, as we read these accounts of your resurrection and of the power of the living Christ,

we pray that you would give us not only understanding, but a deep conviction in our souls

that you are worthy of everything we can give. Draw us in to the truth of your life in Jesus. Amen.

Okay, friends, John 20 verses 1 through 2. Jesus has been crucified, he's been taken down from the cross, he's been buried

and closed up in a tomb. And here in John 20, verses 1 through 2, we've read, now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to

the tomb early while it was still dark and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other

disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, they have taken the Lord out of the tomb and we do not know where they've laid him.

So Peter went out with the other disciple and they were going toward the tomb.
