and our title today is The Enemy Within,

and I will admit I stole that from a 1994 made for a TV movie.

I think most people will recall that during the Obama administration,

Lois Lerner, who worked at the IRS,

was found who have been targeting conservative organizations

that disagreed with the president's policies or were vocal critics

of the president's policies. That was not the first time. The IRS has been used in that way

by a president. A lot of people may have forgotten the fact that Franklin Delano Roosevelt, there are substantial evidence that he used what was then the IRS.

It was known as the Bureau of Internal Revenue in exactly the same way that he used that particular tax bureau to target his political opponents, political enemies, and vocal critics of FDR.

And unfortunately, he got away with it.

When it came to the Obama administration, they didn't.

It was found out. There were court cases.

There was an inspector general report. But that shows the

kind of problems you have with an agency, which is one of the most powerful agencies within the

federal government, one that if it comes after you, can bankrupt you, put you in jail, totally

ruin your life. Here to talk about that and some other really

interesting things today is my longtime friend, Robert Alt, who is the head of the Buckeye Institute,
