Tonight I'll be reading The Enchanted April by Elizabeth von Arnim.

Chapter 7 and 8

In the previous chapter, Mrs Wilkins wakes up feeling delighted by her solitude and the beauty of her room.

After getting dressed and unpacked, she fetches Mrs. Arbuthnot, and together they revel in their newfound relaxation. They are surprised to find

that Lady Caroline has already arrived, having come early to secure the best room,

just as Mrs Fisher did, leading to their unexpected joint arrival.

As they exchanged introductions, Lady Caroline realizes that the other women seem different

from how they were in England

and resolves to keep her distance to avoid irritation.

Now that we're caught up with the story so far, let's get ourselves ready for sleep.
