Why are we so attached to our stuff? I get where we're attached to people. We have that

0:05.3

codependency. We're really attached to our loved ones. But we also can be attached to inanimate

0:11.3

objects, things that don't have feeling or necessarily aren't even sentimental. So why is it so

0:17.6

hard to let go? Why did I hold on to that teddy bear from my daughter's first birthday that she didn't actually even like, I finally decluttered it, but it was tough and I held on to so many things for so long because I felt genuinely attached to them. A couple of weeks ago, I recorded a podcast about the connection between our love language

0:39.3

and our home. And it was probably one of my favorite podcast episodes ever. I just loved

0:45.7

exploring that connection. Something that I really hadn't thought of before is how we express love,

0:53.1

how we like to receive love, and how that translates to

0:56.3

our stuff and how we love our space. So I wanted to dig a little deep again and make other

1:02.6

connections when it comes to our brains and our space. It's more than just our brains. It's our

1:09.5

relationships. Our relationships to our stuff and our

1:13.4

home. So today we're going to dig deep into that. I don't know if you've ever heard of the

1:18.4

different attachment styles, but I'm going to break them down today. There is the secure

1:24.0

attachment style, the avoidant attachment style, the anxious attachment style, and the

1:31.7

disorganized. It's how we connect to the different relationships to the different people we have in

1:38.8

our lives. Or don't connect to them in some situations. But before I get into the attachment styles and break them all down

1:45.9

and talk about how they can actually be helpful when it comes to managing and your relationship

1:50.0

with your stuff, it is time to declutter, my friends. I do not want you to just sit and watch

1:56.8

or listen to this podcast. It is time to take action. I want you to get up and do something that is

2:03.3

going to make your life better, that is going to make every day easier. We are going to spend

2:08.8

45 minutes to an hour together. And at the end of that, you're going to be so freaking proud of

2:14.4

yourself. And it's the end of summer. It's starting to get cold. So here is what I

2:18.9

definitely recommend. You need to go through your clothing. We are not making a huge pile of all
