The Emmy nominations came out today, so we're here to talk

about them. I'm here with Vanity Fair's film critic Richard Lawson.

Hello. And our senior writer, Joanna Robinson. Hello. So this is a it is exciting because the Emmy nominations were announced on a Thursday and our episodes come out on a

Thursday so for once the timing actually worked out.

So we're also going to talk about this week's new movie, War for the Planet of the Apes, and the upcoming

Return of Game of Thrones, which is very exciting.

First, we have some awards nominations to dig through.

So Richard and Joanna, you guys wrote our predictions for the website.

How well did you guys do on your predictions?

I think we did pretty well actually.

As always happens, especially with the Emmys just because there are so many categories.

There were a few like random surprises or snubs or whatever. You know I didn't see the

Dolly Parton. Dolly Parton's Christmas of many colors and then this colon something else.

That was nominated in like best TV movie movie which I didn't see that coming so there was stuff like that but I think for the most part

I did well how about you Joanna how did you feel I did pretty well but I voted with my I predicted with my heart a few times that I knew I shouldn't have but I wanted to anyway because hey why not so you know they can the almost complete shout out of the leftovers handicapped some of my predictions for sure.

But, um...

There's your lessons to never follow your heart.

Yeah, never, just in all things.

Never be passionate about anything just you know go with your head
