I'm so grateful that he has been obedient to the calling that God has placed on his life.

Welcome to our Wednesday's broadcast of the Gospel Truth.

All of this week I'm celebrating Thanksgiving, our American holiday.

You know, I've got friends all over the world that they love this holiday too because really this is something that we should be doing every single day.

But I think it's really nice to designate a single day to be celebrating and thanking God for the good things that are done.

You know, used to in the past I would put out Lincoln's Thanksgiving Proclamation.

He was saying things like we have been recipients of the bounties of heaven.

We've had crops. We've had this.

And he was writing about how that we should be praising God that we have somehow thought in our own wisdom that it was our own abilities that brought all of this.

But it was God and he declared a Thanksgiving day.

I think it was 1863 and talked about that we ought to be giving things.

And if you put that into the context, he was in the Civil War.

And I mean, it was the greatest loss of life of any war Americans have ever fought.

Not only in percentage to the population of that day, but just in actual numbers.

All of the rest of our wars don't add up to the number of American lives lost in just the Civil War.

And yet here he is issuing a Thanksgiving Proclamation.

Boy, that's a great, great, great examples.
