Some of you know me. So my name is Sophie Turin and I'm co-deputy head of the sales centre.

And I've got the pleasure of introducing Dr. George Bauer.

Some of you have met him already if you attended the Brexit seminar, one of the very many Brexit seminars that we have at the

faculty at the moment.

But today, I thought, although I expect that we'll end up talking about Brexit at some point

again, I thought it would be good to have George coming here, telling you a bit more about

the EFTA, talking about his own personal experience

as Assistant Secretary General of EFTA, and maybe also you can tell us a bit more about your career and how you got there.

So very briefly, I would say that George Bauer was assistant secretary general of EFTA from 2012 to 2018.

You were based in Brussels, which means that you dealt with the EU a lot.

And before that, you were deputy head of the mission of the Principality of Liechtenstein to the EU in Brussels.

You also served as an advisor before that to the government of Liechtenstein on matters concerning the financial center and financial services.

You were also a lawyer in a bank before that and in a law firm.

And in your spare time you got a doctorate from the University of

Zurich and you admitted to the Swiss Bar as an attorney and if that wasn't enough you have also

published widely on EU and international issue so it's very much about giving an introduction

about EFTA thank you very much for agreeing to do that

and i hope that we'll be able to have a discussion after that thank you very much sophie

for the kind words and i hope you don't expect too much for me in any case feel free to ask

whenever you're not clear or if you want to just

intercede in something I have been saying this time compared to the Brexit talk

a bit better prepared with slides the subject is not entirely easy. So you might afterwards want to reflect things.
