In recent years, it feels like we're hearing more and more about the Dutch Reformed

Theologian, Herman Boving. Although most of his works were not translated into English until

only very recently, his popularity has grown quickly among many pastors and theologians

in the U.S., who have found him to be culturally insightful and

pastorally wise.

My guest today is Professor James Eglinton, and he has spent years studying Bavink and

working to share his insights with the English world.

In our interview today, James introduces us to Bavink's life in context, explains his role

in the Neo-Calvinistic movement in the Netherlands,

and reflects on advice that Babink might offer evangelicals if he were alive today.

James serves as the Meldrum Senior Lecturer in Reformed Theology at New College, the University of Edinburgh,

and is the author of a major biography on Herman Bovink. He's also the translator

and editor of several books by Herman Bovink, including Christianity and Science and Christian
