Haitian gangs have significantly strengthened their influence and control over the country's infrastructure, contributing the instability since the assassination of the president in the 2021.

These gangs, now better funded and armed,

pose a severe threat to the upcoming deployment of a Kenyan-led

multinational police force, which we've covered on this show has been kind of in the works for quite a while.

Once reliant on political and business elites for financial support, the gangs have become more autonomous,

engaging in drug trafficking and other illicit activities.
