An Israeli air strike on a UN school in a refugee camp in Central Gaza has killed at least 27 people according to local officials.

The attack targeted classrooms on the top floor of the school where hundreds of displaced

people were sheltering. Israel's military stated that the strike was aimed at a Hamas compound

within the school, while Hamas accused Israel of committing a horrific massacre. Footage on social media showed extensive damage in bodies and shrouds, with witnesses

expressing anguish over the repeated displacement and loss of life.
