Hello everybody, Kate here. We are back for another episode of The Drop In. The Premier League

season is almost over, but don't worry. The transfer window is soon going to be open

and providing us with intrigue to last all summer. I don't know if you can hear the sprinklers

on in the background, but we are on the road again. We're at Brentford's training ground,

we're about to speak to a very important person in the Brentford setup. It's easy to

feel like the defining story of the summer was Chelsea's spending spree and nothing

far away is bringing in all of those players, but there are clubs in the Premier League

working quietly and smartly behind the scenes, clubs like Brighton and Brentford. We'll

be talking Brighton for next week's drop-in, but today we are here at Brentford to speak

to one of the most important people at the club, their technical director, Lee Dykes.

Now, if you don't know what exactly that job means, we're about to find out, and if you

cannot believe how successful Brentford has been in recent seasons, you're about to find

out how that's happened. Lee has got experience working in all four professional divisions in

England, and he's very much the type of behind the scenes character we very rarely hear

from, but you're going to find out exactly why he's valued so highly at Brentford and

why we were so excited to get him onto the drop-in. We thought you lot would love to

Lee Dykes, thank you so much for joining us. It's absolutely brilliant to have you on

the drop-in. We were speaking to people before talking to you about you and about your job,

technical director, and lots of people said you're one of the most important people at

the club, but obviously lots of football fans wouldn't know all that much about what

you get up to. Can you just quite simply help us understand what that means?
