Welcome back, special Saturday edition was actually planning on taking today off, but not dream on green and TMZ had a few other plans for me, so I guess we're gonna be talking about that now and I do feel as though I'm not the best person to talk about this stuff because I'm not as plugged in with the team as guys like Marcus who wrote a great piece about dream on situation and even ex-athletes, coaches, I've only played at the high school level.

I can try to impart what my emotions would be into this, but that's probably not really gonna be too interesting to people, but I guess I'll start with you here, Danny.

Let's kind of just go through this because I really, the overarching question that really has not been answered yet is just how big of a deal is this that this happened when you heard the initial report before seeing the video, how did you feel about it?

It seemed more to me like the type of thing and obviously what we know it now to be is something that has happened before, but it seemed like you know the scuffle and like there had been a version of a shouting match between dream on green and Jordan pool on the bench during a game I think that was a year or two ago, and so I thought it was you know like a little bit of a kerfuffle there all sorts of famous stories including Steve Kirk any much face I think there was a Zach Randolph Ruben Patterson one years ago,

and so I thought that it was maybe more in that vein and it obviously wasn't and I think there are a lot of threads from the story that aren't complete yet, but are worth kind of starting to time together and as you mentioned Marcus Thompson, I thought his piece of the athletic was fantastic in this and Marcus is beyond being an excellent writer he's very emotionally intelligent and I think that's the most notable part of this long term it's not the possible suspension or the money that dream on green

or you lose either through a suspension or through future endorsements or future contracts or anything like that it's the relationships within this team the warriors are the reigning defending champions, they are the team that I think is the most likely champion more on paper than anything else and that doesn't make them likely it just makes them more likely than anybody else at this moment in time and relationships matter and this isn't just dream on green and Jordan pool I mean something that that Marcus talked about so well is his position as a leader of the game.

Well as his position as a leader as a voice within this franchise and I have obviously he's been an integral part of four championships and that voice carries differently now and it always will and we don't know maybe there had been other things like this I sincerely doubt it but that in the room you know the room where it happens dynamics here it's the part that will probably never get the full story on and I find it the most compelling element of the story.

Absolutely because what makes dream on green so valuable especially as he gets later in this career is his essential leadership qualities and holding guys accountable on defense of being the defensive captain and using his brain and now what is it going to sound like when he tries to do that right.

Okay maybe he just shows up and he plays and he doesn't have that leadership voice anymore but then he also isn't as valuable of a basketball player as he used to be and I think you know you you mentioned this of just like what how is his voice going to resonate still and this is so often the case in interpersonal relationships that and what makes these transgressions so miserable to begin with is yeah dream on green did what he did and he's going to come back he'll show contrition as they always does he will talk more about his apology.

I thought he was yeah I'd give him like a seven and a half out of 10 on his apology better than a lot of people do but it's not really about him going forward it's on everyone else they if they're going to say where is one get where they want to be as a basketball team at least this season everyone else just has to get over it and that's not really fair to have to ask them to do that right like if you're in a marriage and you get cheated on okay you can you have to rebuild trust whatever but ultimately it's on the person who and the person.

The people in this case whose trust was violated to just get over it and trust again and that's the dream I can help a little with that but it's really up to the other warriors to just decide essentially like okay how much do we care about this guy how much we

willing to forgive him especially given that this isn't the first time this shit has happened so that's what what it boils down to is just how is everyone else staff and Steve Kerr most of all Jordan pool how are they going to react to this

that's going to determine how big of a deal it is and sadly if they want to win they probably do have to get over there aren't that many players that theoretically and there

have been a trade dream on green do all the stuff and if the warriors are trying to win a championship this year there are very few players that they can trade

dream on green for that will not significantly decrease their title because even though step curry is the alpha the omega with this team the defense is a big

part of what is pushed them forward and so maybe there's a faint possibility you could talk to like the Pacers about miles turn or one of these players who can kind of fill the dream on the center

role the warriors do not have another person who seems adept at that maybe the dream is Jonathan Cummings in years or wise men obviously at some point in time be a different theory defense

we're looney but practically speaking that's very difficult to accomplish and it's it's something as you mentioned that they're that they're going to have to

work through and it is an immediate challenge but it is also a long term challenge as well because even though dream on green along with the rest of this warriors kind of like the older

core you know they're in their early to mid 30s dream on turns he's 32 now will turn 33 during this season the intention is that they will pass the torch while

still being a part like that's been the idea you know the kind of two timelines as it's come up before I think Joe wake up by be the first person who said that idea

and that gets harder when there is this open conflict between important members of the two timelines but also just because you have a lot to do with and Marcus I he did a great job in his piece I
