Aaron Hernandez was an up-and-coming NFL star in 2013, after being drafted to the New England Patriots just three years earlier.

Yet a growing family in a life that many people dreamed to have.

But as we know, not everything is as it appears.

And Aaron Hernandez's life was definitely not as it appeared.

A troubled childhood riddled with abuse and the loss of a parent

left him with wounds that potentially never healed.

And he would end up finding himself in jail,

facing multiple criminal charges and a life in prison,

away from his fiancé, his baby daughter, and football.
