Today's reading was edited and adapted from Within You is the Power by Henry Thomas Hamblin, published in 1920.

Each one of us possesses, if we but knew it, unlimited power.

This power is of the spirit, therefore it is unconquerable.

It is not the power of the ordinary life, or infinite will, or human mind. It transcends these, because being

spiritual, it is of a higher order than either physical or even mental. This power lies dormant

and is hidden within us until we are sufficiently evolved and unfolded to be entrusted

with its use. Thought itself is a spiritual power of tremendous potency, but this is not the

power of which I speak. By thought we can either raise ourselves up and connect ourselves with the powerhouse of the universe,

or cut ourselves off entirely from the divine inflow.

Our thought is our greatest weapon, because by it we can either draw on the infinite

or sever ourselves, in consciousness but not in reality, from the divine source.

Through the divine spark within us, which is really our real self, we are connected with the infinite.

Divine life and power are ours, if we realize that they are ours.

So long as we are ignorant of our oneness with the divine source of all life.

We are incapable of appropriating the power that is really ours.

If, however, we enter into this inner knowledge,

we find ourselves the possessor of infinite power and unlimited resources.

This power then is gods, yet it is also yours, but it is not revealed to you until you are fit to be entrusted with it. It is only when you realize your

oneness with your divine source that you become filled with its power.

There are some people who spend the whole of their spare time searching for knowledge of this power.
