| 0:24.0 | Last episode, we told you the story of Brian Worley, a man from Carrollton, Georgia, who'd moved to Atlanta and begun a life there and settled down with his partner Jeff. |
| 0:44.0 | But in 2007, his aging parents, back in Carrollton, had begun to need his help. Brian was one child of a large family, and he pitched in, driving the hour back and forth to care for his parents until his father's death. |
| 0:58.0 | Then he moved in with his mother to care for her full time. Jeff, his partner, remained in the city where his job required him. |
| 1:07.0 | It was a stressful time, made more so by Brian's own health problems. He had a pacemaker, severe arthritis and narcolepsy. |
| 1:16.0 | And, on top of all this, he also had to maintain his mother's estate. |
| 1:21.0 | Eventually, the Worley's made the decision to move their mother into a nursing home. |
| 1:26.0 | At the same time, Jeff was caring for his own healing mother and had left his job at his longtime employer, Bell South. |
| 1:34.0 | Amidst all this, Brian had to drive down to Carrollton from Atlanta on the tail end of a historic flood for a court date concerning his mother's financial affairs. |
| 1:45.0 | So, on September 22nd, 2009, he set out on what would usually have been an hour-long journey from Atlanta to his hometown. |
| 1:55.0 | Instead, he was on a treacherous, flooded highway for hours, re-rooted and turned around by impassable sections of road. |
| 2:03.0 | He even pulled over part of the way through to have a drink at a restaurant just to settle his nerves. |
| 2:09.0 | He did eventually make it to Carrollton, a little worse for wear. |
| 2:13.0 | The next day, he saw his sister Anita, and her husband Spencer. |
| 2:18.0 | He talked to his niece Amanda, his partner Jeff, and a few friends over the phone. |
| 2:23.0 | And, he prepared for his probate court date. He was especially interested in finding one receipt. |
| 2:30.0 | He was staying at his parents' empty home with plans to go to court and then drive back to Atlanta afterward. |
| 2:36.0 | He and Jeff had plans to travel with his sisters Anita and Jeanette, and their spouses a few days later. |
| 2:43.0 | Neighbors later told police that they saw a light on late at the Whirlies House that night, September 23rd. |
| 2:50.0 | They thought that Brian might have been working late on the car, his parents' Buickless Aver. |
