We're going to spend the bulk of today's podcast talking about the Eagles cornerbacks.

And the Eagles on Monday move off of veteran cornerback Darius Slay,

and then on Tuesday they move on from veteran cornerback James Bradbury.

While neither is much of a surprise based on the amount of money that they're owed and how it would affect the cap, it is still mildly surprising to see Slay go

because the Eagles now have parted with both of their

starting cornerbacks from Super Bowl 57 and of the two, there's still a small sliver of hope

that Slay could return in the Philadelphia Eagles if he's able to come to an agreement at a reduced

salary. We'll have to wait and see how that goes, but let's talk about his 20-24 season,

because I would argue that that was one of his best seasons

of his career, definitely with the Eagles.

He played in 14 games, he had 13 passes defended,

he had an interception and five passes defended in the postseason.

I thought he was absolute money all season long, despite not having those stats,

those interceptions that come with that big play Slay moniker.

I just thought he was steady and consistent and he was such a good role model for those young corners

and Quinnion Mitchell and Cooper DeGine.

So he played the 699 snaps for the

Eagles in 2024, which came out to about 67% of the defensive total. And I just think that he was
