Hey, what's going on, everyone? Welcome into another episode of the Checo Daily, Andrew DeCecho

0:11.9

Eagles, be reported for Inside the Birds.com. The positional preview series continues on today,

0:16.4

and we're looking at the safety room. Drew McCuba in his second NFL season headlines this group right now.

0:23.1

I am anticipating a big leap in year two for Drew. I know that in the beginning of last season,

0:29.6

it looked like a rookie trying to find his way. And that should be of no surprise. It's a challenging

0:35.6

position in this particular defense. But I thought later in the

0:39.9

year, it looked like he was navigating it fairly well. He was playing with more confidence,

0:43.9

1:20.1

of gaps on the roster, a lot of questions, maybe for depth, but not in terms of starters.

1:27.1

Safety is interesting because you have Marcus Epps.

1:29.7

Marcus Epps is 30 years old.

1:31.1

He's been in the NFL for a while.

1:33.1

Sixth round pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2019, I believe.

1:37.7

And he gave the Eagles some quality snaps at safety.

1:40.7

Now, ideally, you like to have him as your third safety,

1:43.4

but he is instinctual,

1:44.9

he's smart, he's tough, lacks for the range and athleticism. You typically look for

1:51.4

for that position, but he makes up for it with the IQ and the instincts and being fundamentally
