This is a bonus episode because I didn't want to wait until next week to weigh in on the Mackay-Beckton transaction.

But late on Friday night, ESPN's Tim

McManus reported that McKay-Bectin agreed to a deal with the Chargers, a two-year deal.

And then this morning, Saturday morning, it was reported that it was for two years, $20 million.

So, yeah, look, Mackay Bechtin bet on himself. He was a project player when he arrived at the Eagles and sort of a reclamation project of

source because he didn't live up to expectations with the New York Jets being that first

round pick.

He missed a number of games and there was just a lot of questions surrounding his long-term

viability in the NFL.

Almost felt like he had one foot out of the NFL.

But he connects with offensive line guru, Jeff Stoutland, and they formulate a plan.

They kick him from tackle to guard.

I thought he did a really good job with transitioning early.

He did it in a matter of weeks because he had never

played that position before. So to kind of learn that on the fly in training camp and then be

adequate enough where you can now stave off Tyler Steen, who let's not forget was the frontrunner

to start at right guard, hurt his ankle in training camp, missed some time, and then Mackay

Beckton slid in and took advantage of that opportunity.

And I think you have to give him credit for that.

He was part of that offensive line that paved the way for 2,000 plus yards for Sequin
