Hey, what's up everybody?

Welcome in to another edition of the Checo Daily.

It's Andrew DeCecho, Eagles Beat Reporter for Inside the Birds.com.

And don't look now, but we now turn the page to another phase in the offseason process.

And that would be the NFL draft, but February is for the NFL scouting combine,

but it is also mock draft season.

And so I went ahead and put out my first mock draft, the Checo Machdraft 1.0, on Inside the Birds.com. And today we're

going to kind of go through day one and day two where I'll elaborate on why I went with

those players, positions, and maybe what those players have to offer. And Sunday will be reserved

for day three where I can kind of expand

on that.

But in the first round, the Eagles are picking at number 23, and they're going to find themselves

in prime position to add, whether it's a tight end, an edge rusher, an offensive lineman.

But here, I think you really have to give some thought as to their philosophical approach.

And historically, the Eagles build through the trenches.

And with that in mind, Lane Johnson, whether he returns, however long he decides to play,

whenever that may be, the Eagles do not have a succession plan for when that day comes.

And so you have to look at it through the eyes of the Eagles, and I think they're going to have a good spot to add a tackle who could offer some guard versatility.

But I went with Caden Proctor, the tackle from Alabama, 6'7, 366 pounds.

I like the way that he has power to anchor, heavy, violent hands, potential versatility to kick inside the guard.

And I do believe that he profiles as a high-end tackle and you couple him with Jeff

Stoutland and I think you have a player there where he can undoubtedly reach his talent, reach his
