and it has been a busy couple of days. And the Eagles now have their initial 53 man roster set.

It's always subject to change.

That's why it's called the initial 53.

We'll get into all that and break that down as well as some of those transactions.

But before we do, I have to say this.

As a reporter for what I do, this is probably the toughest day of the year.

You're reporting on 38 players losing their jobs.

And while some may look at it on social media as they're scrolling as merely a transaction,

at the end of the day, it's someone's job.

So it's important to be mindful of that.

Now, a lot of these players whose names you're going to hear who didn't make the cut

will end up in all likelihood staying with Eagles in some capacity,

and we'll start to get the wheels turned in there about who those players

may be. But let's start with the 53. At quarterback, Jalen Hertz, Tanner McKee, Sam Howell, who of course

was acquired Sunday in a trade, General Manager Hallieeman, said on Tuesday that the trade had nothing to do with the finger injury to

Tanner McKee.

That was a player.

They would have gotten that deal done either way.

They're always looking to better the roster.

They didn't have a viable option as the third quarterback in Kyle McCord.

You can't go into the season with him as your third quarterback with Tanner McKee banged up.
