Summary

In this very special bonus episode of British Murders, I am joined by my good friend Christian Raphael, who tells me the story of Patrick David Mackay aka The Devil's Disciple.

Mackay is a British serial killer who confessed to murdering 11 people between 1974 and 1975, however, only 3 were confirmed.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment in November 1975 after being convicted of manslaughter due to diminished responsibility.

He remains in prison to this day.

My name's Stuart Blues, and I'm excited for you to join me on this journey of

0:21.1

morbid discovery. I'm by no means an expert on the subjects of homicide and serial killers.

0:26.8

However, I have always had a sick fascination with them. Together, we will learn about some of the

0:31.9

lesser-known British murderers, as well as glimpsing occasionally at some of the more notorious

0:36.3

ones. The bite-sized presentation of this podcast is intentional as we look to cover an overview of

0:42.5

the respective timelines of each case succinctly.

Hello everybody, welcome to a very special episode of British murders. I am your host,

0:57.6

Stu, and joining me today is my friend Christian, who is the tallest man in the world at six foot,

1:04.4

six foot night. Every time I introduce him, I say that. Christian and I have been friends for a good few

1:10.4

years now,

1:11.4

met at a music festival. He's the smartest guy I know, but he's also the one with the least

1:16.6

amount of common sense, which is quite a unique combination. Thank you very much. I don't

1:20.4

know if that's a compliment or an insult. Yeah, he's also from southern England, and I tend to

1:25.5

have a habit of going into a southern accent when I speak to Christian

1:29.2

for some reason. As soon as I see him, it's, hello boy. I don't know why that is. It just reminds me of

1:34.3

the good old days at Creamfields. So you have a master's degree in what? Creative writing. Creative writing.

1:42.7

And you are an aspiring author who is in the middle.

1:46.8

Well, you've finished the lion's share of your first ever novel.

1:51.1

How's that going?

1:52.0

Yeah, it's been quite an intense experience, actually,

1:54.9

because this is the first novel that I've really put my weight behind
