ritual murder. And this is a case that still decades later divides opinions. This is the

country walk case that happened in Miami, Florida. Now, a lot of you might not be familiar with this

story. I certainly wasn't until someone suggested it, but when I started digging into the details of this whole thing, I was absolutely horrified.

Was this entire thing a horrifying instance of hardcore child abuse?

Or was it a product, as some people claim, of mass hysteria and overzealous law enforcement?

I'm not planning on going anywhere soon. But yeah, just as a preface,

there have been so many cases like this over the years, like the McMartin preschool case in California.

In the 80s, there were all of these, you know, disturbing allegations that emerged from daycares across the

United States. Children, you know, started telling these stories of bizarre things that were happening to them.

People that were participating in these rituals and, you know, doing these things.

It's easy to write all this off as just a product of the satanic panic when law enforcement was extremely overzealous trying to prosecute people and find the devil in every corner of small town America.

And I agree with people, obviously. I think the satanic panic was definitely real.

But I also think that the entire thing was used to almost exonerate people that were guilty

of crimes. They got written off, you know, as victims of the satanic panic. And there were,
