Summary

A claim of demonic possessions, murder and the question, "Did the Devil make him do it?" Four decades ago, Arne Johnson went on trial for killing his landlord, Alan Bono, and his lawyer put forth the idea that Johnson was possessed at the time of the killing and therefore should be found innocent. “The Devil Made Me Do It” case is infamous and has been adapted numerous times in Hollywood, most recently in The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It in 2021 and more recently as the focus of the hit Netflix Documentary, The Devil on Trial. 1:03.3	shortly after the Exorcist movie had come out, right? Just at the beginning of the satanic panic
1:08.6	that was going on in the 80s. And you've got this interesting
1:11.6	case that involves demonic possession, an exorcism that goes horribly awry, and a murder
1:17.8	that may be attached to this. The concept that the devil is involved in our bad activities,
1:24.8	right? Nobody wants to believe that our neighbor, our friend, our lover could be a
1:29.6	killer, that we could have been so close to this person all along and not realizing the power
1:36.3	that they might actually wield and what kind of anger and rage lies just underneath the surface.
