For the next few moments, we look to God's Word to discover simple Bible principles that will help us to live the daily Christian life and to enjoy the journey.

Not long ago, I was speaking in a great southern city, a beautiful part of the world,

a place where people love to go and to visit. A pastor friend there was talking to me about their city, and he said that so much wickedness,

open immorality has now moved in to this beautiful place.

This place that had long been known as a conservative place has now become very, very loose and liberal about moral things.

And I said to him, where did all of that begin?

Without hesitation, without even thinking about it, he said, no doubt.

It came immediately when the breweries came to town.

In other words, as soon as the alcohol industry invaded their city, it brought on its heels so many other wicked

things. Oh my friend, what's true in that city is true in every life. We're looking this week at what

God has to say about alcohol. Now, you may have your opinion and someone else may have their opinion,

but frankly frankly our opinion

is not the crux of reality.

It's not the truth that endure it.

It's not what will be judged by someday.

The only thing that really matters is what does God have to say about this issue or any

We began our study in Proverbs chapter 20, verse 1,

where the Bible says,

wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging,

and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
