Welcome to our Rosemary meditation.

Had a wonderful evening.

My daughter Grace, who's an aerospace engineer in Baltimore,

flew into town.

We had a wonderful supper, spent time with Sarah, Nick and Cormac,

and my beautiful wife Sandy. Now we're praying the Rosary together. So let's begin in the name of the

Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Let's call to mind all those that we've promised to pray for. Now as we're walking through the

catechism, immediately the catechism speaks about the universal desire for God.

Now this might surprise you, but God has placed in the heart of every person a desire for him. Now we need specific

things to be fulfilled and happy and each need has a corresponding desire.

I desire water because I need water to live.

I desire friendships because I need friendship

to be happy.

And just as we have a desire for food and drink, safety and security,

achievement, knowledge, friendship and beauty,

everyone has a desire for more, infinitely more.

Every person has a built-in desire for God, because we were made for union with Him. Now from the time he was a little boy,

the greatest desire of an old friend of mine, Mike Panisek, was to play professional football.

In 1993, he made the training camp for the chiefs as a kicker.

Now Arrowhead Field is always full, even in the preseason.

And Mike lined up for the opening kick, the stadium full, the crowd roaring.
