One good Friday President Biden declared Easter Sunday as Transgender Day of Visibility.

Though he must have known the outrage that would follow,

his defenders were quick to note that March 31 has been recognized in this way

for over a decade and just happened this year to

coincide with Easter. Thus they argued Christian should not take offense

that our so-called devoutly Catholic president would desecrate this day that's recognized as sacred by millions for

over 2,000 years now. This in spite of the fact that two dozen other made-up days

not to mention three different months are already marked on our calendars to recognize the ever-growing

list of sexual identifications.

Still the President's actions can, I think, be best understood in light of an analysis of the

spectacle that occurred back in February

inside New York City, St. Patrick Cathedral.

While the salacious details of that event should, in the spirit of Paul's warning to the

Ephesians, be left unspoken, Professor Carl Truman was describing a funeral

that had been held there for a man who was a militant atheist who dressed as a woman who was

often outlandishly perverted and who engaged in prostitution.

The funeral goers at this event made speeches that were meant to shock and offend and proclaim

this man a saint.

Writing in the first things Dr. Truman noted how this event marked a shift from what he called

disenchantment to desecration.
