Well, USA weightlifting provides athletes with an opportunity to continue their athletic career following retirement from football. Their transitional athlete program offers a route to becoming an Olympian. Don't take it for me, though. Listen to Daniel, who's been training with USA

weightlifting and says it was the perfect way to get started in the sport.

I would totally advise somebody to do the transitional athlete program. It's almost like a rubric

for them to go off of instead of just kind of learning and just trying to start somewhere

and not know who to talk to or where to start.

Going into it, it's definitely something that if you've never looked at it before, never

looked at Olympic lifting or anything. It's very kind of makes you feel nervous going into it.

Definitely go into it full-fledged if I did again, even if I knew nothing about it.

So, you know, anybody that's kind of timid about getting started and looking at this,

definitely dive into something you might fall in love with.

I always want to, like, represent, you know, the country in some way or another.

So this is, like, the steps in starting that.

It's just, you know, on or something that I've been looking at since I was young.
