The Michael Vary Show is on the air. Before we start talking about Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, the National News, I just want to take literally one minute and ask for your prayers for the

community from which we broadcast and that is the Greater Houston. the community

Houston community the area that you know of as Houston is far beyond that and there has been a loss of life there has been flooding there been tornadoes there has been tornadoes. There has been heavy sustained winds and all that goes with that.

It's only a category one or it was earlier today. I say only. only and different first responders and planners that for a category one this thing

sure did a whole heck of a lot of damage. The Greater Houston community over the

last 20 years has been absolutely walloped.

My two families, which is the city of Houston,

the people around the city of Houston, that the people around the city of Houston,

that community, and where I'm from, which

is Southeast Texas, which is Orange, and right on the Louisiana border, those two communities

have been hit.

Some of them are the same storms and some of them are different storms.

But it's been a very, very tough go and hopefully the healing will begin this evening for our community after some pretty devastating

storms just a few weeks after we had them again.

Falling trees can kill people, they can destroy vehicles,

they can destroy homes, and that has in fact happened

coupled with the kind of flooding that drowns people and destroy structures.

So I wanted to start the show with that and let me just say for our flagship Houston audience, the station has been in long form today,

just covering the storm, and will continue to provide updates at the top and bottom of the hour.
