Summary

On February 13th, 2017, two teenage girls were murdered in Delphi, Indiana.

Liberty German and Abigail Williams - "Libby" and "Abby" for short - were two regular 8th graders that were enjoying a day off from school. Trying to take advantage of an unusually warm winter day, the two girls went hiking on one of Delphi's historic trails, overlooking Deer Creek.

As the girls walked along the Monon High Bridge, they were accosted by a strange man - who police believe murdered them a short time later. In some of their final moments, the girls managed to record audio and video of this man, but he has gone unidentified in the years since...

Delphi is a small town in the state of Indiana, about 20 miles northeast of Lafayette.

Located along the Wabuk River, Delphi is roughly halfway between Indianapolis and Chicago,

to give you a general idea of where it's located.

While Delphi has an incredibly small population, less than 3,000 people call Delphi, home

roughly a quarter million people live in the region to find as the Lafayette metropolitan

statistical area.

So while Delphi has a reputation for being a small town, you know, the kind where everybody

knows everybody, that whole thing.

It is really just part of a larger grid, connected to dozens of other cities and towns.

Up until recently, Delphi in Indiana was just a blip on the map, a stopgap town that

people would occasionally dip into because of its proximity to other cities.

Or on the rare occasion, its scenic parks would attract some day trippers from out of

the region, primarily hikers and other outdoorsmen.

Since 2017 though, Delphi has become synonymous with a violent incident that unfolded within

it, a double murder that ensnared two of the most vulnerable among us.

This is the type of crime that had never been seen before in Carroll County.

And despite police releasing several details of this supposed killer to the public, he

has managed to escape identification and prosecution in the years since.
