In this episode, we continue our conversation with Courtney Allwine, the Miami County Deputy Prosecutor, who led the recently concluded case against Kagan Klein.

In the first part, we discussed how Courtney first got involved with the case, and we took the story up to the point where Kagan Klein decided to plead guilty to all charges.

In the second part, we're going to pick up with the story from there and start with the sentencing hearing that wasn't.

The day Kagan Klein was originally scheduled to be sentenced, and he declared that perhaps he didn't want to plead guilty after all.

In this episode, we discussed Courtney's feelings about the sentence, her thoughts on the potential second user of the Anthony Schott's account, and how the delay of Kagan Klein's arrest may have actually helped strengthen the case against him.

One other surprise that happened throughout all of this is, of course, the sentencing hearing.

That wasn't what we call it.

We all go in expecting there to be a sentencing and then Kagan does something different.

And I was just curious, you know, what was your experience of that day and your reaction to that development?

That was not a fun day.

I imagine not.

Nope, that was not a fun day for us.

So that day, I will say, the most nervous that I was was the day of the change of plea hearing.

The day of the sentencing hearing that wasn't that one was the one that was in May.

That one, I was nervous, but I was more antsy.

I was just really geared up.
