Well, another documentary is out, and with it comes renewed interest in the case of Delphi.

And that's a good thing, because I think to a lot of us, this is not a settled case.

Richard Allen, the man convicted of killing Liberty and Abby in that hiking trail or on

that hiking trail, right by that bridge.

He is away for the rest of his life.

But when you dive deep into it like we have over the years and you can go back in our archives,

Bob's or mine, and you will find there are far too many questions that do not have answers.

So joining me to discuss Bob Mata, defense attorney, host of the podcast, Defense Diaries.

You have been close to this as they were developing the documentary.

And you've also just recently had some conversations with Andrew Baldwin as well, attorney for Richard Allen.

Let's just start at the beginning here.

Let's get everybody caught up.

Where is the appeal process at at this moment in time so the brief is in process of being drafted

and most recently i think within the last seven days uh the appellate council filed uh for a request

for an extension of time to get their brief filed.

I think that they asked for, I'm guessing here, based on my memory, I think it was a date of

or like in and around September 7th. So, which means that at that point that they have to get their brief in, once that happens,

it obviously gets tendered over to the state. And whoever's preparing, I don't know if it's the

attorney general for Indiana, whoever's going to handle the appeal for the state is going to file

their reply brief or their response brief.
