Defense, defense, defense. This is the defense episode. We're gonna pick our all defensive teams.

We'll reveal our defensive players of the year and then we'll do worst team all defense as well.

In addition to a number of other interesting categories that we came up with.

So this is gonna be a great chance to just talk about a ton of players and our observations on their individual defense.

So do you wanna talk a little bit though Danny about just what some of the principles are,

what some of the stats are that you're generally going to look at here when you're evaluating on both.

I guess we can just talk about good defense first and we can when we get to the worst team all defense we can talk about that.

But what do you look at when you're trying to figure out who the absolute best defenders in the league are?

It can be a challenging endeavor especially because with what is at least publicly available at the moment.

Measuring and quantifying defense is substantially harder and the I test is incredibly useful.

But when you think about even people who watch as much as we do and we watch every single team,

you're not getting the full picture. You're not getting every game, every possession, anything like that.

And so I try to meld the two, who really looks dominant when I get to see them.

And then also the different components of defense.

I mean, this has come up with a guy like Robert Covington before in the past where Covington is a better team defender than man to man defender.

And so each of those has value. It just depends on what that team needs and specifically how what they do goes into play.

Something that I really like is versatility.

So you'll see some players that on my all defensive teams, they get high on the list because they basically take on whoever is the other team's toughest cover.

And that is incredibly important, especially if you're on a team that doesn't have a lot of defensive players,

that the ability to do that and do a really good job is incredibly important.

And then at center, you know, there are different ways to succeed, but I'm still more of a traditionalist where you know,

if you can protect the rim and defensive rebound and end and possessions and alter shots, that to me is still,
