Hi, I'm Edwards Three, and welcome to all things Catholic where real faith meets real life. Did you know that every little detail in the biblical account of Christ's

birth is there for a reason? Every little detail in that biblical story

is charged with great significance, with powerful meaning.

Did you know that every little detail is there

to point out how a prophecy is being fulfilled or a hope is being

realized or something's being revealed about who this child is and the amazing

work of salvation he came to accomplish in our lives.

Every detail is there for a reason.

I shared this because I think sometimes we Christians,

we can kind of take the biblical story of Christ's birth for granted. We say, oh I know it, I'm so

familiar with that, I heard it from my childhood. Yeah, I know, there was a census and

Mary and Joseph had to move down to Bethlehem and they had to put the baby in a

manger and there were shepherds nearby in a field a star in the sky and angels appearing I know the story and we know the details

but do we know their meaning do we understand them the way a first century Jew would

understand them? I want to invite you to enter into the biblical accounts

anew. I want you to hear them the way they would have been heard when they were

first told because there's so much here that from the eyes of a first century Jew

they would be seeing this is amazing our story all our hopes, everything's coming to fulfillment.

And there's so much in these stories that are there to help encourage us in our walk with

the Lord, and we miss out on it because we say oh I already know the story. So if you want to go deeper this Christmas you want to go deeper into the biblical account of Christ's birth, stay tuned because that's what we're going to talk about in this week's podcast.
