According to reports out of Washington,

Senate Republicans are currently trying to push against

Director of National Intelligence nominee Tulsi Gabbard.

One Senate GOP aide told the Hill,

I think Gabbard, out of the three, still has

the toughest path. She is the most at risk. And then yesterday, we learned that nearly 100 former

national security officials wrote a letter to Senators John Thune and Chuck Schumer accusing Tulsi Gabbard of having sympathy

for dictators such as Putin and Assad and questioning her qualifications for the job. And in this

letter, the national security officials cited when Gabbard traveled to Syria in 2017 to meet

with President Bashar al-Assad.
