All right, turn to Daniel, chapter 9. We've been in this series called The Kings of Babylon.

We have one more week, next week, which will be Cyrus, which is the surprise, and we'll get to that. But we're talking about that when we as believers are going through a difficult time

even in adjusting or correcting time from the Lord

the enemy is always trying to take us into captivity or in the bondage.

And even though the Jewish people were in physical captivity, we know through Daniel and Shadright, Meachach and

And so how did they stay free, even though they were going through correction

and always being attacked? And what we've also seen is that they

were being attacked by the spirit of pride. Through these kings, we talked about the seduction of

pride and the stubbornness of pride. This week we're going to talk about the deception of pride,

and we're going to talk about Darius.

And so let me just tell you just a little something,

so if you're studying this on your own, when they rebuild the temple, when they're released in 539 BC to go back and rebuild the temple,

there is a Darius that is mentioned in Ezra Nehemiah, Hagia and Zakariah. That's when it talks

about the rebuilding of the temple. That is not this Darius. This is Darius, the Mead. The

Babylonians were conquered by the Meadad. The Babylonians were conquered by the Meads and the Persians. This Darius in

chapter 6 is Darius the Meade. The Darius that is in Ezra Nehemiah, Hagai, and Zakariah, is Darius the first or Darius
