First of April the consulate inside of the I mean not necessarily inside I would say right next to the

embassy of Iran in Damascus was airstrikes Israel. It killed quite a few people, including pretty senior

commanders within the IRGC, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, very high up people.

And again, this had been part of a very long running campaign by Israel of killing, targeting both Hezbollah and Iranian

troops of the IRC inside Syria. This was not a one-off thing by it means. But what

was different about this what spurred this completely precedent-breaking attack on Israeli territory by Iranian troops

was the fact that again it was on a consulate with with the embassy of Iran which by most international law standards that

most people agreed to is the territory of the Iranian state.

And when you go over that line that Israel has,

typically the expectation is that you will respond

with an attack in a similar manner. You would attack their own territory.

So when Solimani was assassinated back in 2020,

when that happened years ago,

Iran went, attacked the Al-Assad Air Base in Iraq that was utilized by American troops with around,

I want to say, 16, maybe 10 to 16 different ballistic missiles.
